Personification: Giving inanimate objects or abstract concepts living qualities *Discuss using author when talking about the construction of the text and speaker when considering emotions Homer personifies the morning by converting the word dawn into a proper noun. Homer also provides the morning sun with ringlets, converting the non-gendered sun/morning into a female.
