A1 is the intersection of column A and row 1 Active cell – cell that appears outlined with a thick border

Your Turn Exercise 1-1 Open and Edit a Workbook Start Microsoft Excel by clicking the Microsoft Office folder on your desktop. Double-click the Excel icon. Click on the file in Canvas to open the file. Click the File menu (Office button) in the top left of your screen.

Your Turn Exercise 1-1 Open and Edit a Workbook Save the worksheet as Computer Systems 1.1. Click Cell A5. Press the right arrow key to move to cell D5. Press the down arrow key to move to cell D6. Press the HOME key and the cell pointer moves to the beginning of row 6. Press the END key and press the right arrow key .

The cell pointer moves to the last row that contains data Press and hold the CTRL key and press the HOME key. The pointer moves to cell A1. Press and hold the CTRL key and press the END key. The pointer moves to the last cell that contains data (H8) Close the workbook.
