Most meteorological and cryospheric date collecting in Antarctica are not collected by national meteorological agencies but rather by research groups or national Antarctica operators. This can then cause an issue with compliance to WMO regulations. This is somewhere that the Antarctic Task Team (ATT) that sits under EC-PHORS can help by advising on best practice. 
More Antarctica stations and AWS need to be put forward as GCW sites, this can be pushed through the ATT, the Scientific Committee on Antarctica Research (SCAR) expert group on operational meteorology in the Antarctic and the annual Workshop on Antarctic Meteorology and Climate (WAMC).
Could all of Antarctica be considered as a single cryonet cluster? Could the same be applied to Greenland.
The WMO has proposed the creation of an Antarctic Polar RCC similar to the one that is being developed for the Arctic, part of this will hopefully include sea ice forecasting, could this be done in conjunction with current GCW activities.
