Singular and Plural A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea. A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing, or idea. (s and es 1:50) (Unusual plurals 2:52) (irregular nouns 3:31)

Rules for Making Plural Nouns
most nouns add “s” cars ch, sh, s, x, z add “es” churches consonant - y change y to i add “es” ladies vowel - y add “s” boys consonant - o add “s” or “es” tomatoes, yoyos vowel - o add “s” radios f or fe change f to “v” and add “es” knives irregular forms mouse to mice fish to fish
