1 GENERAL OVERVIEW OF STEPS TO REQUEST ACCESS TO SPP INDICATOR THROUGH TEASE ( TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY SECURE ENVIRONMENT) TEASE 1

2 Types: New and Returning Users New User: This person has never applied for a TEA Secure Environment (TEASE) account or any of the applications accessible through TEASE portal. Returning User: This person has a TEASE account and can log into TEASE by using the user name and password. 2

4 TEASE: NEW TEASE USERS If you DO NOT have a TEASE user account, you must request access online. The online form is accessible via the Request New TEA SE User Account page at the following web address: https://seguin.tea.state.tx.us/appsng/um/apply.aspx https://seguin.tea.state.tx.us/appsng/um/apply.aspx When requesting a new user account, you will also request access to a SPP indicator. 4

6 Select a State Performance Plan Indicator from the drop down menu and click Continue 2. NEW TEASE USERS 6

7 3. NEW TEASE USERS Fill in applicant information Districts include their 6 digit County District Number (CDN) Use the e-mail address where your user name and password should be sent. Shared Service Arrangements: District Certifier- The 6 digit CDN must be the number of the fiscal agent. SPP 7: District Certifier will fill out this form for each member district. Data Entry agent- The 6 digit CDN can be the fiscal agent or member district. Select Continue District Certifier for SSA: Fiscal Agent 7

8 4. NEW TEASE USERS Include correct phone number. (This is the for contact if there are problems with the request.) Provide and verify that the district information is correct and clickContinue. 8

9 5. NEW TEASE USERS Verify all information. If correct, check the box. ClickContinue. 9

10 6. NEW TEASE USERS TEASE: The request process for a new TEASE user account has been completed. Continue the process by selecting a SPP web application. SPP 7, 11& 12, 13 or 14 application: The user will continue the process of requesting access to one of the SPP web applications by first selecting the appropriate role. 10

12 Requesting Access for each SPP: Roles Each SPP application has a Select Role and Provide Additional Information page. Once you choose your role, click Continue to move to the Provide Additional Information page. Most SPP roles require parameters* on the Provide Additional Information page. *Parameters : 6 digit county district number or the 9 digit county district campus number. 14 District Certifier: Provide Additional Information Enter 6 digit county district number (CDN). The text box will only allow 6 digits; no dashes or commas. SSAs should enter the Fiscal Agents 6 digit CDN. This should be the number used on the application for TEASE account. 14

15 District Certifier: Fiscal Agent SSA: Fiscal Agent These 6 digit numbers should match. If they do not, the request could be denied. Initial TEASE ApplicationProvide Additional Information 15

16 Data Entry Agent: Provide Additional Information READ the instructions on each page for each SPP indicator. Other than SPP 11 and 12, all Indicators require a 9 digit CDN. Enter single 9 digit CDN or a list of 9 digit CDNs depending on role. 16

20 User has a TEASE Account and needs to add an SPP application Log on to TEASE, enter the TEASE user name and passwordclick Add/Modify Application Access. 20

21 Add to Your Existing Account Select new application, and click Continue Follow the process to select the role and enter parameters on the Additional Information page. At the summary page, review information and then send request. 21

22 Approval to TEASE IMPORTANT: The request for an account and access to SPP web application is forwarded to the district Superintendents User Administration + TEASE account for initial approval. The request is immediately sent to the Superintendent for approval. The Superintendent will receive an e-mail the following day notifying them of a pending TEASE approvals. If a user needs access without delay, they will need to contact the Superintendent for immediate approval. 22

23 Approval to TEASE (cont.) Once approved by the superintendent, the request is sent to TEA for final approval. Allow 2-3 weeks for approval. If you do not get any notification within 2-3 weeks, first contact your superintendents office. When approval is issued, the system sends e-mail notification to the address provided in the TEASE application. 23

24 Notification of Your Account For security purposes, the user name and password are sent in separate e-mail messages. 24

25 Notification of Access to Indicator 7 - 13 Another e-mail message notifies you that access has been granted. 25

26 Revoking User Roles For Security purposes, there can only be one Certifier per district for each application. If the person established as the Certifier has left that position or the district, then that role will need to be revoked by the Superintendent. The Superintendents must revoke the role by accessing their User Administration +( UA+).UA+ is the required application for Superintendents that allows them to manage staff requests for access to TEA online applications The Superintendent would log into TEA SE and User Administration+ and proceed with revoking the role.
