A space or direction prefix shows physical position or movement. A time prefix shows chronological order. Examples of space or direction prefixes: sub-, trans-, ex-, super- Examples of time prefixes: ante-, fore-

Suffixes A suffix is a group of letters added to the end of a word to make a word with a different meaning. Suffixes can change base words to nouns, verbs, adjectives or adverbs.

Suffixes Noun suffixes: -or, -er, or –ist, -ism,-ment, -ology
Verb suffixes: -ate, -en,-ify,-ize Adjective and Adverb: -ful,-ly, -less
