2 What qualifications will pupils attain?
In S4 most pupils will be presented at the following levels National 3 National 5 National 4 In S5/6 most pupils will be presented at the following levels National 4 Higher National 5 Advanced Higher

3 What is required in these courses?
All Nationals require units to be passed to complete the course successfully At National 4 an Added Value Unit will be completed instead of an exam. At National 5 an exam will be set to help determine overall grades

4 How will these be graded?
National 3 and 4 will only be graded PASS/FAIL National 5 will be graded A to D or ‘No Award’ Higher/Advanced Higher graded A to D or ‘No Award’ To help push pupils towards National 5, the added Value Unit at National 4 will also be completed as a ‘fall-back’ position

5 Preparing for the exam Personal Timetables - Every pupil will receive a personal timetable in April which will show all the exams which your son/daughter is sitting the room number/venue of each exam Working towards the exam - timetable/programme of revision/preparation. Start now. We will also be sending out groupcall messages reminding you of examination details.

7 Final Exams – Study leave
Tuesday 2nd May – Friday 2nd June 2017 Be prepared - the difference between levels often is determined by the preparation done out with school Ask for help - if there is anything you do not understand, ask your teachers for help

8 On the day of the exam Arrive early - late candidates may not be allowed into the exam In uniform – reduce stress Force some breakfast down.

9 In the exam Be organised - have all pencils, pens ruler, calculator and dictionary, if permitted Behave properly - bad behaviour cannot be allowed to affect other candidates opportunities. Answer all questions - you cannot be correct if you don’t answer the question Suspected malpractice - a candidate suspected of cheating in an exam may lose awards in all subjects. Mobile Phones – LEAVE AT HOME

10 Absence Illness - telephone the school as soon as possible
- a medical certificate must be supplied within 2 days - evidence of performance sent to SQA

11 Results Results will be sent to the home of candidates (and can be sent electronically) on Tuesday 8th August 2017 Pupils can on register online at to activate their account to receive results by text, or both The school is informed of all results. Results may affect courses selected in S5.
