Envisioned role: supply services to GEOSS. Represent EPA’s stakeholders – forecasters, modelers, monitoring personnel, and the public, in constructing apps that advance the science

3. Services, Data, Components and Other Inputs
Services: current – demo of WCS service; future – you tell us!
Data: near real-time measurements of Ozone, PM2.5, PM10, and some other pollutants, from more than 3000 surface stations; MSA-level AQI forecasts for nearly 400 cities; future – fused surfaces (NOAA AQF model, satellite measurements)
Components: AIRNow Gateway – US service-oriented system connected to AIRNow real-time database; AIRNow-International Information Services – International analog to Gateway, will be piloted in Shanghai, China
Other inputs – data from mobile monitors?

4. Expectation, Desired Outcome from AIP-2
Expectation: barely controlled chaos, in the most positive sense; excitement; cooperation
Desired outcomes:
Ideas for data sources and components that can be used alongside AIRNow to serve SBAs
Clarity and agreement on standards, best practices, and approaches
“Killer” scenario
Standardization of the word AIRNow
