Rick Donahoue, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD Tri-District Meeting May 6, 2017

Is History a good model to use for the future
In Q APICS rolled out CLTD, this program created some interesting challenges for all of us. Some of those challenges were: Who, how and when do we as chapters, get instructors certified to teach the program Who is the targeted market and how to reach that market What is the class structure, day/night/weekend and how many classes
3
What is your next Strategic move
Targeted for Q3 2017, APICS is scheduled to roll out the new re-purposed CPIM program. In the weeks and months to come, APICS will continue to share more information about the program. Some of the key components they will be sharing are: Courseware content and on-line support Impact on the IPD program Timing and ongoing availability of the existing program, many of you may have already seen some information on this, more to come. As a result of the new program chapters will have to re-think strategically how they will support this program.
4
Actions to consider We are going to take the next XXXX minutes to discuss/share in your small group how you and your chapter are planning to address some of the many aspects the new program will bring. Some actions to consider are: How will you handle your instructors with only two modules versus the current five module program Will you bundle the program as being suggested or offer the modules/exams independently Module 1 will contain 3 days of classroom time, how will you structure the classes Module 2 will contain 5 days of classroom time, how will you structure the classes What will be your marketing strategy What will be the WIIFM’s for companies with the new program How will you flip the classroom, the new program is being designed to better support a flipped classroom What is the chapter’s plan for educating your instructors on all of the new support features
5
As a chapter you have 3 to 4 months to prepare for the new program, as well as maintain the existing program until sometime in Taking time today will allow your chapter to be better prepared for tomorrow. The new CPIM program will be a quantum leap forward in the ongoing pursuit of providing our members and potential members the education and knowledge to allow them and their companies to survive and excel in the fast and ever changing world of Supply Chain Management. Your task is to understand Strategically how to support that future.
