Elkhorn Valley Family Medicine Clinic
Office Location 304 East Douglas Street O'Neill, NE 68763 Ph: (402) Clinic Website: The clinic is located about 3 blocks away from the student housing and hospital. It is a short convenient walk from either location. The clinic contains family medicine services, an x-ray machine, an ER room, a treatment room, and chiropractic services.

Avera St. Anthony Hospital
A 25 bed hospital which provides services including CT, mammography, EKG’s, Nuclear medicine, Ultrasound, and Teleradiology. eCARE telemedicine services are available for a wide range of medical specialists. Outreach specialty services that visit the hospital include cardiology, ENT, podiatry, oncology, psychology, OB/GYN, and surgery. There is also another family medicine clinic located in the hospital. Population: 3,705 O’Neill houses the world’s largest permanent shamrock made of colored concrete at the main intersection of 4th & Douglas There is a Holt County Historical Museum Saint Patrick’s Day and Summerfest in July are the town’s main celebrations Two high schools: O’Neill High School and St. Mary’s The Holt County Independent is local newspaper and the local radio station is KBRX FM or 1350 AM Website:

Housing There is free student housing located across the street from the hospital. This house is also available to on-call staff and used for a city transportation system. The rooms are private. A full kitchen with the basics is available as well as a washer and dryer.

My Experience and Procedures
Experiences include: assisting on vaginal deliveries and C-sections, assisting on laparoscopic cholecystectomies, assisting on colonoscopies and EGDs, excising skin lesions and suturing, injecting joints, casting, toenail removals, pelvic exams and Pap smears, caring for patients in the ER, rounding on inpatients, observing orthopedic surgeries. I was able to spend a day with the CRNA’s in surgery and able observed as well as perform an intubation and a video laryngoscopy assisted intubation. There are two family medicine clinics in town, one is located in the hospital and is a larger medical group and the clinic I spent my rotation at was a smaller clinic located a couple blocks from the hospital.
