Definition of Bullying
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior Involves a real or perceived power imbalance. Behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Can be a single act.

Types of Bullying - Verbal
Verbal bullying is saying or writing mean things. Verbal bullying includes: Teasing Name-calling Inappropriate sexual comments Taunting Threatening to cause harm

Types of Bullying - Social
Social bullying, sometimes referred to as relational bullying, involves hurting someone’s reputation or relationships. Social bullying includes: Leaving someone out on purpose Telling other students not to be friends with someone Spreading rumors about someone Embarrassing someone in public

Types of Bullying – Physical
Physical bullying involves hurting a person’s body or possessions. Physical bullying includes: Hitting/kicking/pinching Spitting Tripping/pushing Taking or breaking someone’s things Making mean or rude hand gestures

It is Bullying If…. Interferes with a student’s education, or
Disrupts school operations, or Causes physical harm to the student, or Damages a student’s property, or Places the student in fear of harm to person or property.

What To Do If You are Being Bullied
Tell a trusted adult A teacher Coach Parent Counselor Administrator We have to know so we can work on making it STOP!
