4. Background 1. Robot driving is a unique skill involving a mixture of robot knowledge, depth perception visualization, and precise control. 2. In Robot competitions the best robot drivers are determined through robot driving skill evaluations A good video gamer does not necessarily make for a good robot driver. Video games are “first person” perspective. Robot competition driving requires the ability to visualize what the robot is and how it is moving without the benefit of it being immediately in front of you moving in the direction you are facing.

5. Todays Task Working with 1 to 3 partners determine who in your group is the best robot driver by driving the robot around the classroom perimeter while seated in the rear of the classroom.
