1 Generation of angle distributions
Inter-Satellite Service PT1 Berlin 24th-28th April 2017 Generation of angle distributions Basis Elevation - θmtilt Azimuth θmtilt 10° 120° BS 6m UE Maximum cell range, dmax 1.5m Maximum cell range, dmax *Note: The alternate configuration (BS height & θmtilt) is as in the Parameters table.

Details - θtilt and ϕescan Elevation, θtilt = θmtilt + θetilt Azimuth - ϕescan θtilt θmtilt 10° θetilt BS ϕescan θtilt 6m UE Maximum cell range, dmax 1.5m Maximum cell range, dmax *Note: ϕescan , θtilt and θetilt can take on a negative number

BS and UE relationship (Azimuth plane) Desired model or + BS Adding both UE

Discussion Point for generating and application of the distributions How do we apportion the 2 BS height, i.e. 6m & 15m? How many floors can the UE exist (for the 5% indoor UE)? Each floor is 3m UE will be 1.5m above floor Once we have all the necessary distributions (e.g. clutter loss, angles, etc.), we will run our simulation. In the end, do we perform a statistical goodness-of-fit test (e.g. Kolmogorov-Smirnov, K-S test) to ensure that the distributions are applied correctly?

Method of randomisation (1/2) Method 1 Randomly generate BS location & orientation Randomly generate UE: within 120° and < dmax with respect to BS Calculate BS/UE angle Store the angle Repeat Step 2 for a times Repeat Step 1 to 3 for b times Notes: Whenever UE repositions, θetilt and ϕescan will be different. This is for 1 BS serving only 1 UE at a runtime snaphot Simplification of calculation can be accepted as long as it doesn’t change the statistical properties Horizontal plane (azimuth) BS BS BS
