Pacifier: Webster - One who pacifies - a nipple shaped device for babies to suck on
Pacify: Webster - To allay the anger or agitation, soothe - appease - propitiate; to restore to a tranquil state; settle - to reduce to a submissive state - subdue
Synonyms: Pacify, Placate, Mollify, Propitiate, Conciliate - all involve easing the anger or disturbance

5. PACIFIERS SOME ADULT PACIFIERS
Physical: food, drink, clothing, shelter, tobacco, alcohol, TV, giving in to children, etc., etc.
Spiritual: easy Bible studies, preach only first principles, service times and order, false doctrines, food, fun, frolic
All efforts to pacify are not sinful - some are good and right in their place, but all have limits
