9 Component Trouble shooting
CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT Electrical Connections Electrical Connections can be a major source of No Apparent defects and (NAD) and Operation Normal service calls. Poor electrical connections can cause intermittent problems leading to misdiagnosis and repeat service calls. It is always a good idea to rule this out prior to diagnosing any major problems. Always ensure electrical connectors are fully inserted and latched at both ends of a circuit. Remove the connector and check to ensure the wires are properly crimped and seated in the terminal. Any loose wires in the crimp could cause intermittent problems. Reconnect the connector at both ends and make sure it is fully latched. Replace harness if loose wires exist. Look at terminals (both male and female) for evidence of burn marks. If burn marks are present, there is a good possibility a loose connection exists.

72 Codes on Display CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT If the owner observes codes on display see table below for interpretation of what this means.

73 Do not mix lint givers and lint takers..
Wash Performance Lint on Clothes CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT Has the laundry been properly sorted? How was the load sorted?? Many fabrics are lint-givers (towels, terry, etc..) or lint grabbers (per press, corduroy, etc..). Wash these items separately. Do not mix lint givers and lint takers.. Is the washer overloaded? Clothes need room to tumble freely. If clothes are compacted, you increase the likelihood of trapping lint. How much detergent was used? The amount of detergent can affect lint removal. If living in a hard water area, increase the amount of detergent used.

Wash Performance Suds on Clothes CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT What type of detergent is being used? High efficiency laundry detergents contain suds suppressors which reduce or eliminate suds. Click here for more on HE Detergent If using regular detergent formulated for top-loading washers, it is important to pay close attention to the soil level of the load, load size, and water hardness. To avoid over-sudsing, reduce the amount of detergent used with soft water or with small or lightly soiled loads. How much detergent was used? Rinse the Machine Run machine through a rinse cycle and try again. Extra detergent residue can cause over-sudsing.

75 Wash Performance Tearing or Ripping
CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT What cycle was being used? Make sure your cycle selection matches the type of clothes. Lingerie should be washed using the Delicates or Hand Wash cycle. When using bleach, avoid using too much bleach for the amount of clothes. Make sure the dispenser cups are not filled beyond the Max Fill lines. Over time, use of chlorine bleach can weaken the fabric of clothes. Was bleach used? Did the garment have strings? Loose strings can become tangled in other wash items. Tie the strings together or place in a mesh laundry bag for easier handling.

76 Mixing garment types may be necessary.
Wash Performance Tangling CONSUMER COMPLAINT TROUBLE SHOOTING LAST PREV MAIN NEXT Were all the clothes in the load the same type? Washing loads of all one type of garment can cause tangling. Mix cotton jeans with cotton shirts, a load of permanent press shirts with a few permanent press pants etc… Mixing garment types may be necessary. Clothes need room to move freely in the wash basket. The clothes load should not appear tightly packed in the wash basket when originally placed in the washer (dry). How large was the load? Tightly packed load may effect PERFORMANCE The selections may be too aggressive for the type and size of wash load. Try using Wrinkle Free vs. Cotton/Sturdy. Check that the soil level matches the load size. For instance, when washing a smaller load of clothes that are not heavily soiled, use Light Soil Level vs. Medium or Heavy Soil Level. What cycle was selected?
