2. DINO’s Mission Statement
The purpose of the student-led Deployment and Intelligent Nanosatellite Operations (DINO) mission is to determine cloud heights from space, evaluate the performance of intelligent operations, and assess deployment technologies for nanosatellites including a gravity-gradient boom, memory composite hinges, and thin-film solar arrays.

Demonstrate MicroSat’s Foldable Integrated Thin-Film Stiffened (FITS) solar arrays
Demonstrate Composite Technology Development’s Elastic Memory Composite (EMC) hinges
Evaluate the deployment of a gravity-gradient boom
Operations Objectives
Demonstrate MicroSat’s thin-film solar cells
Demonstrate Ball’s power system
Demonstrate wireless communication between the primary satellite and the tip mass
Intelligent Operations Objectives
Demonstrate autonomous scheduling, planning, execution, and rescheduling
Onboard evaluation of science and engineering data
Science Objectives
Measure cloud heights
Education Objectives
Educate students to design, build, and operate small satellites
Educate K-12 students about science and engineering using DINO

6. Meetings for the Semester
Team Meetings will be held once a week
All team members are required to go to their team’s meeting
Systems Meetings will be held once a week
Team leads are required to attend and everyone else is welcome
General Meetings
These will occur when needed
Special topics will be covered at these meetings like Configuration Management
One representative from each team is required to attend and then report at their team meeting
Meeting Minutes and the presentation that was given will be available on the website
