What is the difference between Intune and Intune for Education?
Intune for Education is Microsoft Intune tailored specifically for K-12 IT Admins. With it you get two different Intune consoles: Intune, which gives you enterprise level capabilities to manage all the devices in your mobile ecosystem; and Intune for Education, a streamlined console designed to make it easy even for teachers and part time ITPros to manage Windows 10 devices in the classroom. In addition, Intune for Education includes select features of Azure Active Directory Premium (AADP) to enable key scenarios such as shared devices and auto enrollment.
Which languages will Intune for Education support?
Intune for Education will be available in the same languages as Intune, which are the same 22 languages as most Microsoft server and administrator products.
Does having EMS give me rights to Intune for Education?
Yes. EMS includes Intune and Azure Active Directory Premium, including Intune for Education. This will be available with product GA.
If I buy Intune for Education, do I get rights for the full Intune product experience as well?
Yes. Intune for Education is Intune with the addition of a simplified Intune for Education console to make managing Windows 10 devices easier as well as select features of Azure Active Directory Premium to enable key scenarios such as shared devices and auto enrollment.
How do I move to Intune for Education if I have Intune and student use benefit?

If I already use SCCM to manage my existing Windows infrastructure?
Intune for Education integrates with SCCM just as Intune does today. Very large school districts or districts with a full time, professional IT staff that require the management capabilities of SCCM should continue to manage their environment in the way that works best for them. However, even very large schools and full time professional IT admins will appreciate the ease of managing Windows 10 devices using the Intune for Education console.
Since I have already licensed Intune, will I automatically get Intune for Education?
Existing customers with Intune will have access to the Intune for Education console, but without the select Azure AD Premium features. Existing EES and OVS-ES customers with Intune should order the Intune for Education Step Up SKU ($0) to provide the full features of Intune for Education including select Azure AD Premium features through their existing term. Existing EES customers with Education Desktop should order the Intune for Education Add-on SKU to provide the full features of Intune for Education including select Azure AD Premium features. At the end of their term, customer will pay the then-current price of Intune for Education.
If I drop Azure AD Premium, what features do I lose?
Existing customers that choose at renewal to drop Azure AD Premium and transition to Intune for Education will continue to have the following select features of Azure AD Premium: Single Sign-On > 10 apps, MDM auto-enrollment, Enterprise State Roaming, Dynamic Groups, Password write-back, and Administrative Units.
Can Intune for Education manage BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)?
Yes, Intune for Education can manage BYOD devices. The Intune for Education console can manage BYOD Windows 10 devices. To manage BYOD Apple and Android devices, IT Admins can use the full Intune console, which is part of the Intune for Education offer.
