From that video, we can see that:
Collaboration is more than just ‘playing well with others’. A culture that enables people to share ideas and thoughts openly 3. The collaborative solution is reflective of the diversity of the group – can everyone see at least an acknowledgement of who they are and what they want in that final vision? . Mission and vision statements
Mission Statement The North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners will work and learn collaboratively so that all our learners successfully navigate their own learning pathway. We will do this by developing a future focused approach to learning and teaching and providing cohesive and effective transitions between our primary and secondary schools. Vision We want our learners to be confident and connected, Catholic learners for life, committed to being the best they can be, acting generously and inclusively, prepared to challenge and shape the future. . If you were building collaborative mission /vision statements and list of values, what would be your non-negotiables? . North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners/Kahui Ako
20
Disadvantages of this collaborative method:
Loooooooong list of values and very wordy mission and value statements Time consuming Could look like ‘committee’ written statements and value list. . North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners/Kahui Ako

We learned about each others’ schools and what was important to them
Advantages: Everyone gets a voice We learned about each others’ schools and what was important to them a common vision / goal for all the schools that reflected the diversity of our community Very clear, agreed common ground to underpin our CoL work. . Our actual academic challenge
NCEA Level 2 We aim to lift the number of NCEA Level 2 endorsements to 75%. This is a shift of 5% points. An additional 13 learners will attain a NCEA Level 2 Certificate of Endorsements. This will include: a shift of 6 Level 2 Maori learners so that 75% (19/26) attain a Level 2 endorsement. a shift of 15 Level 2 Pasifika learners so that 75% (20/26) attain Level 2 endorsement. (NB: this total is more than the 13 required because non-Maori and non-Pasifika is higher than 75% already). . North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners/Kahui Ako

What hindered collaboration? Time commitment Getting the data
Continual changes in requirements Change of principals during the process Tight timeframe – not allowing for ‘building of consensus’ Technology . North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners/Kahui Ako
31
What helped collaboration? Collaborative practices in place.
Change of principals during the process Outsourcing Admin systems Equitable not equal work load Realistic Used the ‘vision keeper’ idea Timeframe – kept the focus Using technology to support the collaboration . North Shore Catholic Schools Community of Learners/Kahui Ako
