Trauma Informed Learning Series
The Trauma Informed Learning Series will support practitioners in identifying the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES), the signs and symptoms of trauma, how to implement trauma informed practices (TIC) in their work and how to support TIC at the organizational level with reflective coaching and mentoring. The three part series can be taken individually or woven together for implementation. This is a general overview of each module. Day One: Adverse Childhood Experiences: The Impact of Trauma The neurosequential development of the brain – scaffolded learning What are ACEs and how do they impact brain development, health and wellness. How trauma shows up later on in life – linking the past and the present Special Screening of Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope by James Redford Day Two: How to Implement Trauma informed Practices What is trauma informed care? What are the 6 principles of trauma informed care? How to implement TIC principles into your practice. Strategies to support individuals with PTSD and trauma responses. Day Three: Reflective Coaching and Mentoring: Creating Leadership for Trauma Informed Care Practices in Organizations. How reflective practice supports trauma informed practices. Building your reflective toolkit: You are the tool of your trade. How trauma informed are you? Organizational Scan Special Screening: Paper Tigers: A case study of the implementation of TIC by James Redford COST: $100 per person per session lunch included Line Marie Perron, B.A., M.Sc., C.W.T. is a certified Community and Workplace Traumatologist with over 30 years of facilitation and training experience. She holds a degree in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Family Ecology and Practice from the University of Alberta. She also has an Indigenous Early Childhood Leadership and Management certificate from the University of Victoria. In 2006, she became certified in Neurolinguistic Programming through the Richard Bandler Institute. She subsequently became a certified Community and Workplace Traumatologist through the Traumatology Institute. Line Marie is the founder of Early Childhood Development Support Services as well as A New Dynamic Enterprise. She was also the Provincial Community Development and Mobilization Manager for the Early Childhood Development Mapping Project and has worked across the province building capacity for professionals in relationship based practice.
