Clinical Psychologist
Works in a clinic to help treat emotional disturbances They will assess, diagnose, treat and prevent mental disorders (depression, schizophrenic) While they often work in medical settings, clinical psychologists are not medical doctors and do not prescribe medications. Largest field in psychology

Development Psychologist
Study the physical, cognitive, social and emotional growth/changes of people throughout life They can work in 2 ways: - With a certain age group (adolescence or seniors citizens) - With a certain developmental disabled group (Children with Autism)

Educational Psychologist
Study of how people learn and they try to limit obstacles They try to change student outcomes, the instructional process to help students, individual differences in learning, gifted learners and learning disabilities.

Industrial/Organizational
Concerned with the study of workplace behavior Ways to increase productivity, train people, put people in certain jobs, select candidates

Environmental Psychologist
Study how the environment effects of people Some examples include natural disasters, overcrowding (personal space) and pollution

Biological Psychologist
Study the effect of drugs and try to explain the factors of behavior. They study the electrical and chemicals in the nervous system

Forensic Psychologist
Help find insights of criminal offenders to help understand why they commit crimes Used in legal system (court or prison) Sentencing recommendations Evaluations of the risk of reoffending Testimony as an expert witness Child custody evaluations

Health Psychologist Concerned with the health, physical and psychological factors and health of their patients They help treat ailments such as stress, depression, ulcers and colds Also will help with smoking and teach about other unhealthy behaviors

Experimental Psychologists
How humans and animals operate physically and psychologically Some examples: how rat’s brains effect behavior and how different socioeconomic groups vote in elections. They use information and research to study psychology.
