2 What is a medical therapeutics?
Careers directed toward changing the health status of the patient over time. Use a variety of treatments to help patients who are injured, physically or mentally disabled, or emotionally disturbed. Treatment directed toward allowing patients to function at maximum capacity. Work environments include: hospitals, clinics, mental health facilities, daycare facilities, long term care facilities, home health care agencies, schools and government agencies MT is the branch that deals specifically with the treatment of disease and the art and science of healing.

Dentistry Dentists, hygienists, lab technicians, dental assistants Emergency Medical services careers Paramedic, EMT, first responder Medical careers Physicians, physician assistants (PA), medical assistants Mental and Social Services careers Psychiatrist, psychologists, mental health technicians, social workers Dental Hygienist – associates degree- dental hygiene program Dental Assistant- Help dentist with procedures, does require certification Dental lab technicians - They work directly with dentists by following detailed written instructions and using impressions (molds) of the patient's teeth or oral soft tissues to create First Responder - certified to provide basic life support skills similar to an EMT. The biggest differences between paramedics and EMTs are the training and the scope of practice (what they are allowed to do). Basic EMTs usually receive hours of training, while paramedics get anywhere from 1,200 hours to 1,800 hours of training. Paramedic programs often award two-year degrees. The scope of practice differences between EMTs and paramedics can be summed up by the ability to break the skin. Most states do not allow basic emergency medical technicians to give shots or start intravenous lifelines. Paramedics, on the other hand, can give shots as well as use more advanced airway management devices to support breathing. Basic EMTs are usually restricted to using oxygen, glucose, asthma inhalers, and epinephrine auto-injectors (a common exception to the no-needles rule). Paramedics are trained in the use of medications, depending on the state. Mental Health Technicians - The minimum qualification to become a mental health technician is typically a postsecondary certificate in psychiatric or mental health technology, which is available from technical schools and community colleges,

Funeral directors, embalmers, mortuary assistants Nursing Careers Registered nurses (RN), Nurse practitioners (NP), nurse midwives (CNM), nurse anesthetists (CRNA), Licensed practical nurse, nursing assistants Nutrition and dietary services careers Dietitians, dietetic technicians, dietetic assistants Veterinary Careers Veterinarians, veterinary technologists/technicians/assistants Embalmer – Mortuary Science School, preparing the bodies of the deceased for funeral services as well as burials or cremations. This may involve removing blood and replacing it with embalming fluid, performing complex reconstruction to disguise damage, and applying makeup to provide a peaceful, relaxing appearance. The perfusionist manages the physiological and metabolic demands of the patient while the cardiac surgeon operates on the heart. It is also the perfusionist’s responsibility to deliver the drug that stops the heart.
