Class of Drug: Class: Benzodiazepine (which are depressants due to their impact on the CNS) Usage: The recommendation time period is only a few weeks because individuals can become addicted/dependant upon the drug. In essence, Benzodiazepines work to calm the Central Nervous System and make it so that the individual’s system is less excitable to stimulus. The drugs in this classification are used for numerous purposes, some of which are; Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) Insomnia Seizures Alcohol Withdrawal Panic Attacks

Effects of Diazepam on the Body:
Blue lips, fingernails, or skin Confusion Dizziness Seizures Decreased muscle control or coordination Allergic Reaction: Itching, hives, breathing inhibition, swelling of: face, hands, mouth, throat. Minor Effects: Vision changes, nausea, vomiting, headache. These are only a majority of the side effects, more can occur.

Color: Yellow, white, blue, orange, green. Shape: Round Inscribed with: IVA, MYL, SCH, BAR, WAT and a number indicating its strength.
