Percent of Citizens Age 25 and Over with a High School Diploma or Higher (2006) U.S. Census
Georgia is in the 2nd to bottom category with 77.9% of our citizens having a HS diploma or higher. Right in there with the rest of the south

Educational attainment of Georgia citizens as compared over time and to the nation.
To break down this data, we see that Georgia has narowed its gap with the nation since 2000 in percent of year olds with a HS diploma or higher. The gap has increased somewhat when looking at % with bachelors degree or higher. For citizens over 25 years of age, we’re actually near or doing better than the national average in both categories and increasing since 2000. Source: U.S. Census Bureau

These next 3 slides were put together for GA by NGA who did an in-depth review of Georgia’s stats. In comparing us to some industrialized nations, we have a much lower rate than Korea and Canada.
