1 Expanding access through University wide Licensing of Assistive Technology Software A national model & Web Accessibility.

2 Accessibility and Usability
Many believe that because their websites are usable it’s also Accessible, and because the website is accessible its also usable. This is false because users are not just accessing the web for content, but for INFORMATION.

3 What is Web Accessibility?
Web Accessibility creates an equal platform for All Users to access web content/information for: Health care Employment Higher Education Government Social Media

4 Why Web Accessibility? 19.4% of the U.S. population has some forms of disabilities. Meeting the users where they stand is important to ensure that they can access your content and information.

5 Learn Accessibility Video
Section 504 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act of 1973 Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) Section 255 of the Telecommunications Act of 1996

6 Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG) (Continue)
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) is developed through the W3C process in cooperation with individuals and organizations around the world, with a goal of providing a single shared standard for web content accessibility that meets the needs of individuals, organizations, and governments internationally.

7 Web Content Accessibility Guideline (WCAG)
The WCAG documents explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Web "content" generally refers to the information in a web page or web application, including: natural information such as text, images, and sounds code or markup that defines structure, presentation, etc. WCAG is a technical standard, not an introduction to accessibility.
