2 The Boys of Sudan The Lost Boys of Sudan is the name given to the groups of over 20,000 boys of the Nuer and Dinka ethnic groups who were displaced and/or orphaned during the Second Sudanese Civil War. They were between 5 and 11 years old.

8 Assignment You are going to write an informal letter to one of this boys. The letter must contain a greeting, an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. See page 2 for more information. Remember the date must be in letters.

9 Body I need to see at least three paragraphs plus your introduction and conclusion. Paragraph #1: Write an inspirational message for him to overcome his adversities at the United States. Paragraph #2: Acknowledge the problems in Africa. Write about what you have learned in class. Use your notes for details and give your opinion about some issues. Prove that you know what’s happening there. Paragraph #3: State your opinion about how to change the social and economic problems in Africa.

10 This letter will count as 20% of your final.
You can turn in your letter any time, but the due date is the day of the final. You can write it by hand or share the attachment with me via Google docs.
