PLANNING FOR 10th GRADE I will know what the requirements for graduation are. I will become familiar with the curriculum guide. I will forecast for classes for next year. I will take home my forecasting materials and discuss my choices with my parents/guardian.

(Page 6) English Math Algebra I (1) Geometry (1) Algebra II, or another course (1) The third credit may be completed through an alternative math credit that leads to a specific career goal identified in the High School and Beyond Plan. Appropriate form must be signed.

How credits are earned 6 classes per semester is 3.0 credits
.5 credit is earned for each class, each semester. 6 classes per semester is 3.0 credits (.5 credit x 6 classes) 3.0 credits x 2 semesters = 6.0 credits for 1 year

Staying on Track (Page 13) End of 9th = 6.0 credits (at least 5.5)
You must have at least 16.5 credits when you start your 12th grade year to be on track to graduate.

PLANNING FOR 10TH GRADE Most of you will choose one or two elective courses. If you took a language class this year, you should forecast for the next level of the same language. DO NOT FORECAST FOR THE SAME CLASS YOU TOOK THIS YEAR, IN ANY SUBJECT, UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO.

PLANNING FOR 10TH GRADE Have you passed all your classes, and will you earn 6.0 credits this year? If not, talk to your counselor about how to recover credit.

PREREQUISITES Check to make sure you qualify to take the courses you choose. Not all courses are available to all grade levels Some courses require that you have already successfully completed other courses first.

Alternate Courses Choose 3 elective courses that you would like in the case you do not get all of your first picks. YOU ARE NOT GAURANTEED TO GET ALL OF THE CLASSES YOU CHOOSE, SO IF YOU DO NOT PICK ALTERNATES, WE CHOOSE COURSES FOR YOU.
