Europe’s imperialist nations thought they had the right to control the colonies.
Cultural and political superiority.
Indigenous peoples and their cultures were usually not viewed as their equals.
They were seen as barbarous or savages.

7. 2) Indigenous Perspective
Have never seen these large ships or fair skinned people before.
Indigenous cultures had established diverse and complex societies.
Europeans had little regard for these indigenous peoples and their cultures.
Perspective is often missed because many indigenous books and histories were burnt.
