Classified Staff Council (CSC) Framework Purpose
The purpose of the Classified Staff Council (CSC) is to provide a unified voice to represent and advocate for classified employee interests throughout the District.

Representatives Per Unit
3 Representatives will be elected per college and the District Office. In addition, 3 At-Large Representatives will be selected by CSC. At-Large Representatives will be filled by the CSC to ensure interest/viewpoint diversity.

Elections - It's a democratic process!
The elections will be democratic and conducted via electronic surveys. Accommodations will be available. UPCOMING ELECTIONS College/Unit Elections will begin March 2016. District-Wide and At-Large Elections will begin May 2016.

Eligibility All Classified Employees may run for and hold any elected office so long as all of the following qualifications are met: submit a written statement/"application" to be posted online willingness to follow the ground rules and procedures established by the CSC complete pre-requisite orientation to role will not be in a probationary status at any point during term of office have no written reprimands or corrective actions currently on file service will not create an undue hardship for your work unit not be on a Performance Improvement Plan.

Candidates Local sites will provide at least two more candidates than the number of representatives allotted to the CSC ballot. For example, three representatives will be nominated to the CSC, with an additional two candidates sent forth to equal five candidates per college unit and the District Office. The other 10 sites then vote on the top candidates from those provided: The candidate with the most votes will win the First Representative office. The candidate with the second most votes will win the Second Representative office. The candidate with the third most votes will win the Third Representative office.

Classified Staff Council Election Structure
1ST VOTE | Local unit voting for five nominees for the CSC Ballot. 2ND VOTE | The other 10 sites vote to select the three representatives from those provided. CLASSIFIED STAFF COUNCIL | The candidate with the most votes will win the First Representative office. The candidate with the second most votes will win the Second Representative office, etc.

Classified Staff Council Officers
CSC officers will hold a one-year renewable term From among the elected CSC members the following officers shall be elected for a one-year renewable term: President Vice President/Financial Officer Secretary/Communication Officer Collaborative Policy Development Co-Chair Conflict Resolution Officer Please Note: The five elected officers will be elected from within the Classified Staff Council members.

Create a single staff council through elections Enhanced employee voice Training provided to council members Reorganize Collaborative Policy Development (CPD) Complete integration of Staff Policy Manual, including review of all previous work.

Evaluate District-wide committee structure to calibrate with new staff council, and adjust as needed. Examine how representation works with District-wide committees Examine term lengths (longer or shorter) Review and assess reassign time needs

Check back on experience under new structure and make adjustments, as needed Evaluate and improve training based on providing core leadership competencies (among other factors) Assess and determine whether a regional approach is feasible
