Orientation Profiles are used to describe the attributes of jobs or individuals. Typically, profiles summarize a job’s or person’s: Competencies Skills Qualifications Think of a Profile as a consistent foundation or starting point for defining, recruiting, measuring, developing, and advancing your staff. Profile management is the connection.

Non-Person vs. Person Profiles
A PERSON profile is used to describe an individual employee’s competencies, responsibilities, education, and projects. The PERSON profile is linked to a specific employee and their employee number. All employees can have a PERSON profile. PERSON profile content would typically include many of the items found on a typical resume: Education Competencies Responsibilities Projects

Non-Person vs. Person Profiles
A JOB or NON-PERSON profile is used to describe the characteristics of a particular job. The NON-PERSON profile is linked to a specific job code, and, in cases where there are departmental specific duties and/or qualifications, a department number as well. NON-PERSON profiles are not required and may be partially implemented at each institution NON-PERSON profile content would typically include many of the items found in a typical job description: Job Summary Essential Job Duties Requirements & Qualifications Competencies
