The Geospatial Technology Center of Excellence (GeoTech Center) is funded by the National Science Foundation through the Advanced Technical Education (ATE) program We were originally funded in 2008 and located in Texas, now located at Jefferson Community and Technical College in Louisville, KY We are team of two and four year college educators located across the country We are the only National Center from NSF devoted entirely to two-year college education

A website that we hope is more user friendly, Social media, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube Student competition in conjunction with URISA Monthly two page newsletter, in keeping with our theme of being more green, is produced only electronically. Always looking for good stories.

9/17/2018 Model Course Development Develop Complete Courses based upon the work done in previous grant as well as the revision of the GTCM and DACUMs. Teams have been established for each course First 4 or 5 technician courses are nearly complete Awareness course is available.

9/17/2018 Changing face of GIST Cloud based service are expanding rapidly Open Source Map Time Data collection, analysis, and uploaded from a tablet from the field Window Tablets with true GPS technology can run full ArcMap in the field and utilize the GPS for data collection as well as Geotagging of images. Must trick the tablet in thinking it has the GPS connected via of external port Cost under $250 How are story mapping changing the face of GIST Google Knightlab Esri
