Team Registration/Check-In
Main Office at High School Entrance Open from 7:30 – 10:00 All teams must report This includes PRIMARY Coach and 1 team member should report Please DO NOT plan to meet your team here (make sure that all team members are onsite prior to reporting) You will: Receive a Welcome Letter with Updates and Information about the Day Receive a Spontaneous admission ticket Receive a Tournament Program for each coach listed and team member on roster Receive a Venue Site Map Check Roster to verify that each team member is in attendance Check Roster to verify that Coach and Coordinator contact information is correct Verify that you have all paperwork on site and filled out Receive Passports to Creativity (Primary ONLY)

DURING THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT
Awards Division 1 High School Gymnasium Tentative Start Time of 5:45 Teams and Coaches ONLY line up in the Cafeteria no later than 5:15 Doors open approximately 5:30 Division 2 / Division 3 Tentative Start Time of 7:15 Teams and Coaches ONLY line up in the Cafeteria no later than 6:45 Doors open approximately 7:00 PRIMARY Middle School Library Tentative Start Time TBD All information will be placed in our registration folders and placed outside performance sites NOTE: ANY CHANGES WILL BE UPDATED WITH SIGNS PLACED OUTSIDE PERFORMANCE AREAS DURING THE DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT

Medals and Trophies are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishing teams in each problem and division Based on the Advancement Schematic, additional teams may be recognized as Honorable Mention for advancement purposes but will not receive a medal or trophy Based on the Advancement Schematic, not all teams finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd will advance to the next round of competition Teams that tie for any place will also be recognized and advance if applicable

Named for the Odyssey of the Mind Mascot Recognizes individuals or teams who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship, exemplary behavior or exceptional talent Recipients may be coaches, team members, parents or tournament officials Nominations can be submitted by anyone Winners are determined by the DELCAPS Awards Committee Ranatra Fusca Award Highest Award in Odyssey of the Mind Presented to teams or individuals who exhibit exceptional creativity Nominations are made only by problem judges Winners automatically advance to the next level of competition regardless of final placement in the competition based on score

PIN TOWEL RAFFLE/PIN TRADING
2 Pin Towels with a collage of assorted state and international pins will be displayed at each regional tournament for raffle at $1.00 per ticket A small scale pin trading area will be set up in the Cafeteria and also in the Middle School Gym during alternate awards ceremonies The rules will be posted and strictly enforced with the same standards as World Finals guidelines

FOOD AND CONCESSIONS Concessions will be available in the Cafeteria
Outside food is allowed on the premises No electrical outlets and cooking methods may be used by teams, coaches or spectators (microwaves, to charge phones, etc.) All food and drinks must remain in the cafeteria Cafeteria is for concessions and dining only Due to the large number of teams and spectators, please do not use the cafeteria as a meeting space

PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATES
Participation Certificates are available on the DELCAPS website Information is generated based on data entered by team registration If team member or team information is incorrect, please contact to see if it can be updated Please provide membership #, Problem, Division and a detailed explanation of information to be corrected All corrections must be requested by February 20th Certificates are generated in pdf format and are automatically formatted for printing

SPECTATORS Competition/school maps will be available at the information table near Team Registration Please inform guests of the Problem and Division and school name Spectators are NOT allowed to enter a problem site once a performance begins unless directed to do so by the official managing the site Seating may not always be available for all spectators; Preference will be given to family members first Problem Captains responsible for the smooth operation of the competition site may ask spectators to clear the room in between team performances for this consideration Silence is required near all performance areas

CLARIFICATIONS General Clarifications Team Specific Clarifications
Available on-line at Can be issued at any time by CCI/International PCs If issued two weeks prior to first regional, will not be enforced at any regional, but team must adhere to any new general clarification at State Finals Team Specific Clarifications Submitted on-line at Specific to any element of team solution and remains confidential Deadline for submissions is February 15th

SPONTANEOUS Team should report to Spontaneous at least 20 minutes prior to their scheduled start time Check in and then move to Holding Room One coach may accompany team and wait in the Holding Room while their teams compete Spontaneous scores will not be available until final scores are posted on the DELCAPS website after the awards ceremony Spontaneous scores are not eligible for a tribunal

PROP STORAGE Teams will be called 30 minutes prior to their scheduled Long Term Performance time No Friday Prop Drop Off Prop Storage will be open at 7am Props may be dropped 1 ½ to 2 hours prior to Long Term performance time Parents can help move props into prop storage and to pre- staging Parents are NOT allowed to stay in prop storage Tournament Officials will be monitoring for outside assistance Prop storage is for props and repairs NO Rehearsals

PRE-STAGING AREA Team entrance to competition sites
Parents can assist with prop transfer from prop storage to pre-staging area Team member presents paperwork to pre-staging judge Team members should be prepared to make adjustments to paperwork, if required Pre-staging Judges Responsibility Ensure paperwork is in order Ensure performance is in compliance with safety guidelines Ensure kids are relaxed and having fun

TEAM ITEMS Refer to Section H of your detailed problem criteria
Teams should bring the following items Extension cords and, if necessary outlet adapters for the use of electrical power. Access electric outlets will be available at each problem site Clean up materials such as broom and dustpan, small handheld battery-powered vacuum, paper towels, absorbent cloth, etc. Repair kits with materials to make the last minute repairs should items be damaged during transport, or if items used are in the teams problem solution need to be assembled after drop off

POST PERFORMANCE Performance is not over until the judges have completed talking with the students about their problem solution Parents can assist with prop transfer from competition site and out of venue Do not return props to prop storage unless waiting for transportation Prop Storage areas must be clear of all items before the Award Ceremony begins

LONG TERM/STYLE SCORES
Coaches ONLY may pick up/review team score with Head Judge minutes after the performance Coaches have 30 minutes after review to initiate a grievance (see page 6 of the tournament handbook) Unresolved grievances on objective scoring and rules infractions are referred to Problem Captains and if still unresolved, grievance can escalate to a Tribunal Tribunal request form would be provided by the PC team and must be completed and returned within 30 minutes. Subjective scores are not eligible for a Tribunal Audio/video recordings are not allowed as evidence

TEAMS WITHOUT COMPETITON
This year, several brackets will be “non-competitive”. This circumstance is addressed by the DELCAPS by-laws which requires these teams be judged as usual, but also assessed by the PC and a DELCAPS board member. These teams will not get an automatic advancement, but receive special evaluation for the following requirements: Good faith effort at a long-term problem solution in keeping with the Spirit of the Problem and must have score-able components as specified by the long term problem requirements Identifiable and score-able “style” elements as specified by the problem requirements or as free choice items Good faith effort at a Spontaneous problem solution

COMPETITION SCHEDULE Schedule will be posted on the DELCAPS website no later that February 24th All information posted today is TENTATIVE and will be removed from the power point at the end of this meeting prior to being posted online At the conclusion of this meeting, the window for scheduling requests for this tournament will be closed Changes to performance sites may occur based on unexpected changes in facility space and will be relayed immediately

CRUSHER BOARD TESTING Teams are being offered the opportunity to test their structures Sunday, February 25th Central Park Storage, 9582 S DuPont Hwy, Felton DE 20 minute test session By appointment (10:00-10:20, 10:30-10:50, 11:00-11:20, 11:30-11:50, 12:00-12:20, 12:30-12:50) First come, first serve Scheduled time MUST be adhered to Contact or to schedule your appointment
