What is a Neighbourhood Plan

What is the Frisby Neighbourhood Plan??
The Frisby neighbourhood plan gives us the local people direct powers to shape how our local area develops and grows, it can help shape future policies for the development and use of land in Frisby. The Frisby neighbourhood Plans can include proposals for improving our area and/or providing new facilities. Our plan can and will cover a wide range of planning issues such as housing, employment, heritage and transport or focus on a single topic of importance for the community. Our Neighbourhood Plan enables our community to take the lead in producing part of the statutory development plan for the area it is a plan “developed by the people for our village” and if adopted it will become part of the MBC local development plan and be used by the local planning authority when making decisions on planning applications The Frisby Neighbourhood plan must comply with: national planning policy, EU and UK legislation, strategic development needs set out in the Local Plan and human rights requirements

Transport Survey Objectives
As part of the neighbourhood plan there is a need to give evidential support of sustainable development within the village. There are a number of areas we have to consider one of which is transport and the impact that new housing would have in the village to our current infrastructure. The main objectives are to :- Identify traffic flow in and out of the village at peak times, to identify whether this is destination traffic ( i.e. school/shop/ church) or is the village being used as a rat run i.e. thru traffic only Once we identify what is happening then we can assess the impact of new housing, what options for increased amenities we may need and present the true and realistic picture of what is sustainable for the village. The second part of the survey is to identify the parking pinch points in all streets and come up with options to if there are any to mitigate/improve them.
