2 History Founded in 1992 by the governments of the EU, Japan, the USA and Russia; operations began in 1994 in Moscow Norway, S. Korea and Canada joined as Funding Parties Headquarters in Moscow with Branch Offices in Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakstan, Kirgyzstan and Tajikistan In 2003, ISTC underwent a strategic review and major reorganization 9/17/2018

PROLIFIC - > 58,000 scientists engaged in Russia/CIS, and > USD 600 Mill. in funding over 10 years of operation through 2000 projects UNIQUE - 37 nations engaged in cooperative technology development, and growing… RESPECTED - Intergovernmental organization with status of diplomatic mission CLEAN - Legal, audited, effective, & transparent mechanism 9/17/2018

Science Project Program -Sponsored by EU, USA, JPN, Canada, Korea -Institutions from sponsor regions participate as collaborators Partner Project Program -A Financing Partner to the ISTC covers 100% of the Project expenses -A Partner’s specific technology needs are satisfied By Sept 2004, the ISTC has financed over 2000 projects for $600 million at over 700 CIS institutes 9/17/2018
