Step by Step-Finding Sale Price
Step 1: Multiply the regular price by the discount percent(written as a decimal). You find the DISCOUNT Step 2: Subtract the Discount from the regular price. You find the sale price SALE PRICE

Example #1 A shirt is regularly priced at $36.00 It is on sale at 25% off. What is the sale price?

A shirt is regularly priced at $36.00 It is on sale at 25% off. What is the sale price? Step 1: Multiply the regular price by the discount percent. (36)(25%.25) = 9 Step 2: Subtract the Discount from the regular price. You find the sale price 36 – 9 = 27 The sale price is $27

Another Way Step 1: Subtract the percentage of the discount from 100
Step 2: Multiply that number(as a decimal) by the regular price – SALE PRICE
