There are lots of different types of words in the English language and they have different functions.

2 NOUNS A noun is an Object, Person, Place or thing Chair Mr Rogers London Rain

3 Write down all the nouns in this picture.

4 Adjectives An Adjective is a describing word. It describes a noun. Comfortable chair Mr Rogers is happy London is massive

5 Write a list of adjectives for this image (describe the nouns)

6 Verbs A verb is a doing word (the clue is the ‘ing’) Running Jumping Crying Laughing

7 List all of the Verbs in this image

8 Adverb An adverb describes a verb (doing word). The clue is the ‘ly’ at the end) She ran quickly He cried loudly They walked slowly

9 List the adverbs in this image
