7 Interesting Facts about Mr. D.
He has never climbed Mount Everest. Back in while he was studying at UTEP, he was cast in a small, student-directed dinner theatre production of “Joseph and The Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat.” The first successful production lead to a second, then a season. Thirty-three years later, the UTEP Dinner Theatre is a full-fledged branch of the UTEP Theatre Department, and is the only free-standing full-time semi-professional dinner theatre located on a university campus in the U.S., as well as an El Paso institution. In 1990, Mr. D came back to the UDT to portray Molokov in “Chess”, their entry into the American College Theatre Festival, which competed with productions from over 300 colleges and universities in the United States. This production won, and was given the honor of headlining the national festival at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., where they played to three sold-out audiences. Interesting Facts about Mr. D.

8 More interesting stuff about Mr. D.
Mr. D returned to the UTEP Dinner Theatre in October of 2012 after twenty years to star in the opening production of the Dinner Theatre’s 30th Anniversary season, “Monty Python’s Spamalot”, where he played King Arthur to glowing reviews. It was a fitting way to close his onstage career, choosing now to focus all of his energies on teaching and directing the young actors of tomorrow. More interesting stuff about Mr. D. “We are the Knights who say…..NI!!” -from Monty Python Spamalot

9 Final Closing Thoughts
I am extremely excited to be a part of the Da Vinci faculty this year, and am looking forward to building on what has been started here with the Theatre program. I am looking forward to a long relationship with Da Vinci, and the Burnham Wood District. So strap yourselves in, folks. I promise we are going to have fun, and learn a lot. Your teacher, Mr. D
