by CEFSW Long Zou/CEFSW 21st April, 2017 Leading Change Today to Realize the Vision of the Future Vision for the Future, Focus for Today In our November technical leaders meeting we reflected back on our journey as a technical organization under John’s leadership and started to talk about the vision for our future. That vision continued to evolve and during the first few months of the year I rolled out communication more broadly to the technical organization about that vision through Cummins Connect stories, my newly launched blog, and town hall meetings in Beijing, Wuhan, Pune, Columbus, Fridley, and a video that is available on Cummins Connect. As we come together this week we are at the early stages of refocusing on what it takes for our technical organization to innovate, differentiate, and deliver to our customer and the business. Now is the time for us to come together and talk about the early stages of this journey and commit to leading the company and our technical organization on this journey.

4 CEFSW/PE/Customer engineering’s lane work
Current situation: CEFSW/CE team should handle both Technical lane and Customer engineering lane work. including VPI projects, Pre VPI projects, PPT projects. Including functional Roles of TPL, Tech Engineer of Component, CEFE, REFE, etc. It’s different with Columbus. VPI is a “stage gate” process, which means it has interim milestones (or M-reviews) to track the work and manage risk. VPI is also organized by the main functional groups that do the work, each of which is really a “sub-project” for the overall VPI program. This is located at vpi.cummins.com.
