1 Energy Efficiency Of Cars
By: Brittany Broome, Jessica Corn, & Drew Overcash

2 Main Goal!!! *To promote cars with low CO2 emissions and utilize alternative energy resources. *These cars will meet the needs of communities and their growing populations without harming the environment and contributing to global warming. *The demand for energy is expected to double by 2050 and there is a need to minimize the world’s dependence on fossil fuels

3 Making a Difference If everyone in the U.S. purchased one of the four most efficient car models Americans could save 13.1 billion gallons of gas annually, which also leads to spending less money on gas.

4 Work/Function/Operate
Hybrids combine the use of a gasoline engine and an electric motor. They are better for the overall environment because they use less gas which lessens pollutants being released into the air.

5 Technological Obstacles
Not enough facilities around to mass produce these cars. It is very expensive to make the plants capable of mass producing hybrid cars. Electric power plants are still powered by fossil fuels.

6 Political/Economical Obstacles
Carmakers are not making more cars capable of running on green fuels because they do not want to raise sticker prices. Many argue that hybrid cars do not actually save the consumers money.

7 Negative Environmental impacts
The nickel metal hydride batteries that are in the hybrid cars will one day end up in landfills. These batteries are very hard to break down so it could take years to get rid of these batteries.
