TOPS recipients have until the end of summer semester to earn the required 24 credit hours. Failure to do so suspends all future eligibility unless an extenuating circumstance applies. Must be continuously enrolled and full-time through the census date each semester. Check with the Scholarship office before dropping a class. TOPS Opportunity No stipend included - Total: $2, Fall 2018 20-22 ACT/Retention 2.30 for the first year and 2.50 GPA every year after that TOPS Performance $200 stipend Fall Total: $3, for semester 23-26 ACT/Retention 3.00 GPA TOPS Honors $400 stipend Fall Total: $3, for semester 27+ ACT/Retention 3.00 GPA

8 Retention Requirements:
BEGINNING FRESHMAN PRIORITY SCHOLARSHIP The Priority Scholarship is to be awarded to a student entering Southeastern as a beginning freshman if they applied by January 15th for the fall semester Any beginning freshman student admitted with a 23 ACT composite and a minimum 3.5 cumulative or ACT 24+ and a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) qualifies for a scholarship at Southeastern. Housing supplement only available to students living on campus. All scholarships are awarded for eight semesters. The application for admissions serves as the application for scholarships. Eligibility is based on full-time status. For additional information about scholarships or TOPS, students can visit our website at or call the Scholarship Services at (985) Retention Requirements: The student must earn a MINIMUM 3.0 SEMESTER & CUMULATIVE GPA The student must be continuously enrolled full-time each semester (minimum 12 hours). The student must attempt and pass no less than 30 hours per academic year. The academic year is defined as the combination of the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.

SCHOLARSHIPS DUAL ENROLLMENT 15+ Completion Scholarship Criteria: Student must have at least 15 hours of Dual Enrollment credits with a “C” or better from Southeastern and graduated in May 2018 Scholarship Amount: $1,000 split into 2 semesters Semester Awarded: 1 year (two semesters) only $500 for Spring 2019 and $500 for Fall 2018 We care, you SUCCEED

17 LOANS PLUS LOAN Parent loan program for parents of dependent undergraduate students, apply online at studentloans.gov Fixed interest rate of 7% Repayment begins 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed If parent applies for PLUS Loan and is subsequently denied, student may then receive additional Unsubsidized loan funds In order to receive either PLUS or PLUS denial funds, student must submit a request with Office of Financial Aid

18 LOANS LOAN TIPS All first time borrowers must complete an Entrance Interview and a Master Promissory Note. Information on these may be found on-line at studentloans.gov. Students have a six month grace period.

20 SATISFACTORY ACADEMIC PROGRESS (SAP): HOW DO I KEEP MY AID?
G.P.A. Must maintain at least a 1.75 cumulative G.P.A. (freshmen) or at least a 2.0 cumulative G.P.A. (sophomore, junior, senior) Percentage of Completion Must complete at least 67% of courses enrolled Maximum Time Frame Must not exceed 180 credit hours for first undergraduate degree
