2. MOS AMEO
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Officer - High level of technical expertise required to manage the execution of tasks within aviation maintenance.
Will be in a key leadership billet as the Maintenance Material Control Officer for an O-Level Flying Squadron
Competitive selection process - Selectees must come from feeder MOSs.
60XX, 61XX, 62XX – Primary Feeders with AMOS Target Applicant Group
63XX, 64XX, or 65XX – Secondary Feeders if AMOS 6012 is held
MOS credibility is paramount
Ideal Applicant: Primary Feeder MOS, with AMOS of 6012, with Performance in Maintenance Control
AMOS of 6012 with Safe for Flight certification is Key Indicator
Observed fitness reports from a O Level Maintenance Control assignment
AMOS of 6018 with observed fitness reports as a QAR, CDQAR is a Key Indicator
No maintenance control experience is a warning flag of unpreparedness
Multiple SDAs or B billets are warning flags of unpreparedness
Look for leadership positions i.e. NCOIC, SNCOIC, Division Chief etc.
College Degrees, SDAs, and B-Billets are not requirements
Multiple tours outside of the MOS detract from gaining TECHNICAL experience
You are selecting a Subject Matter Expert for a highly specific billet
Applicants that fail to select for MOS 6004 should not be considered for non-aviation MOSs
