Welcome to America Vision: Our vision is a diverse community that recognizes, welcomes, and celebrates immigrants for their contributions to our shared success. Mission: We will do this by facilitating and providing streamlined, equitable access to programs and services across PCPL and the community. Nuestras Raíces Vision: PCPL statement (see above) Mission: The Nuestras Raíces Committee celebrates and honors the culture, voice and linguistic heritage of our Latina/o and Spanish-speaking communities in Pima County. PIMA COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY Program and Partnership Overview English as a Second Language: Classes offered at 11 locations Taught by experienced instructors with education backgrounds Partner organization Literacy Connects plans and presents the program Phone Interpreter Service and Document Translation Phone Interpreter for Immediate Needs Translation Service for Library Documents Snack Program: Offered at 7 locations and growing Addresses food insecurity Behavioral issues decrease Breakfast Partner Relationships Literacy Connects, Food Bank, DES, USCIS, Tucson Citizenship Campaign Exemplifies the need to foster positive relationships, be open to reevaluation/new iterations. Tara- Under Challenges it is important to emphasize the learning component, no matter the ultimate success. Working with contractors changes when contractors change.

PIMA COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY Program and Partnership Overview Continued Citizenship, 5 Levels: Citizenship Corners – Contact Juan Moran, USCIS Community Relations Officer for Arizona Help with USCIS website – Citizenship Classes Presented and coordinated by Pima Community College Adult Basic Education for College and Career (ABECC), offered at 5 libraries Citizenship Ceremonies Contact the closest USCIS field Office to set this up Document Preparation –We partner with organizations that provide free or low-cost assistance on a sporadic basis. Some library systems have trained staff do this. Job Search Assistance, GED, Readstrong, and Homework Help Taught by Library Program Instructors who are college graduates Adults and kids? Challenges and alternatives. Drop-in model for GED supports students with unique situations Mary-Under Challenges it is important to emphasize the learning component, no matter the ultimate success.
