General LTHET Information
Access MILPER Message at Per MILPER Message: All applicants will complete the AY2018 LTHET application which is posted on the HRC LTHET website ( poh). Prior year applications will be returned without action. Applicants must completely fill out their portion of the application and follow corps specific guidance per their respective corps checklist. Applying officers are responsible for assembling the completed application with all required documents and submitting to the HRC LTHET team by 15 Mar 17. You must interview with the fellowship program director and faculty at all programs and sites to which you apply. You will be contacted for an interview by the fellowship program director after you notify MAJ Parker of your intent to apply. LTHET Board results are typically released in June/July timeframe. If selected by the Board, you will start the fellowship in Summer 2018 (i.e., one year delay between time of acceptance and fellowship report date). Plan application timelines (to meet TOS requirements) and PCS moves accordingly! Inter-post transfers (e.g., moving from a FORSCOM to a MEDCOM assignment at FT Campbell) does not re-set your TOS clock.

Additional Information
The GRE is not required. There is no minimum GPA to apply. Based on the needs of the Army, expect to complete a utilization tour (in a MEDCOM assignment) in your new specialty post graduation. You will incur an ADSO. Refer to page two of the recent MILPER Message for details. Strategically planning fellowship timing is critical to ensure eligibility and enhance career progression. Year groups are the target audience for this fellowship application cycle. Year groups 2006 and below may be best advised to pursue leadership positions to maximize promotion potential. Consult with COL Via or MAJ Parker for additional information. Those currently in internship and residency are discouraged from applying and should seek a first assignment before pursuing additional training. Consult with COL Via or MAJ Parker for additional guidance. Review the MILPER Message for the ramifications of declining a fellowship if selected.
