COMPETITIVE SHOOTING NAVAL RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS UNIVERSITY MATCHES

2 Overview In order to accommodate NROTC Shooting resources and facilities correctly some rules, course of fire, and standard operating procedures will be set in accordance with Safety and the Level of Training of the shooters across the board. Rules and Regulations that govern the USMC/Navy Division Matches are effective only when adhered to and enforced. Each University will need approx. 500 Rounds Total. - 500 Rounds will account for those that may require Alibi Relay’s. Teams will consist of (8) Experienced Shooters 4 – Rifle Shooters 4 – Pistol Shooters Caliber of weapon and ammunition - .22 All information and resources can be found at:

3 Minimal Training Requirements for Shooters
Competitive Shooting Minimal Training Requirements for Shooters Small Arms Familiarized per NSTC M B. Performed a Unit Weapons Handling Test and passed. All Pistol Firing will be ONE handed. Targets. Pistol Target for Match/Practice – 50Ft. International Slow Fire Pistol Target/NRA B-11. Rifle Target for Match/Practice – 50Ft. International Pistol Target for Center Fire and Standard Pistol/NRA B-33. Practiced the Course of Fire for a minimum of 3 hours total prior to the match. - Focus on Transitions from Standing to Prone and Standing to Sitting.

4 Competitive Shooting Scoring
Scoring will be a sum of numbers where the grease ring of the round strikes the target. X’s and V’s will be marked on the Bullseye of the targets prior to shooting. - X’s and V’s will separate ties. - Too many shot holes on target, highest points will go to the shooter. - Misses will be verified by the block and the shooter for agreement in all misses.

Competitive Shooting .22 Caliber Rifle Course of Fire (60 Rounds) Slow Fire (50ft) / Standing / 20 Rounds / 20 Minutes Rapid Fire (50ft) / Standing to Sitting / 10 Rounds / 3 Minutes Rapid Fire (50ft) / Standing to Prone / 10 Rounds / 3 Minutes Slow Fire (50Ft) / Prone / 20 Rounds / 20 Minutes To accommodate bolt action/loading the rapid fire has been increased +2 minutes to apply an increase the speed and application of stress of all shooting fundamentals.

6 .22 Caliber Pistol Course of Fire (25 Rounds)
Competitive Shooting .22 Caliber Pistol Course of Fire (25 Rounds) Slow Fire (25ft) / Standing (One Handed) / 25 Rounds / 15 Minutes

7 Competitive Shooting TOP GUNNER CUP
After the completion of the Known Distance Course of Fire Two Top Competitor’s, one for Rifle and one for Pistol, from each team will compete in the Top Gunner Cup.

8 Competitive Shooting Top Gunner Cup (Rifle)
For the exercise portion you will be timed from the start of the first sprint and the time will stop once you pick up the firearm inside the range. Run: Approx. 100 Yard Sprint Pull Up: 5 Pull Ups Push Ups: 20 Push Ups Sit Ups: 30 Run down into the Range – Grab Weapon (3) Shots Unknown Distance (25 to 50ft) / Standing Time Limit: 15 Seconds

9 Competitive Shooting Top Gunner Cup (Pistol)
For the exercise portion you will be timed from the start of the first sprint and the time will stop once you pick up the firearm inside the range.
