2 Introduction Graduated from Encina High School
Graduated from UC Berkeley in Mechanical Engineering Worked in Silicon Valley for Applied Materials for 8 years Relocated to San Diego to take Cymer, Inc. Public Became an entrepreneur and had a business in: Landscape Design and Voted One of the Best in San Diego County Kayak Accessories and Started a Patent Memoir Became a teacher to inspire more Americans to become great at math and become engineers Mothered two fabulous adults

How to feel comfortable with math Developing note-taking and listening skills Using a scientific calculator and not cell phone during testing Building up their math self-esteem

4 What is TCM? Aligned with the Common Core State Standards
Develops advanced algebra and geometry skills (e.g. Problem Solving, Sequences and Series, Counting and Probability, Linear Programming, Functions, Inverse Functions, Trigonometry, Conic Sections, Advanced Problem Solving). Assignments that promote critical thinking, problem solving, procedural and computational skills Effective communication of applied strategies and logical arguments Preparation for Pre-calculus
