3 Daniel 2:1-12 King: “I’ve had troubling dreams.” Wise men: “Tell us your dream so we can interpret it.” King: “No. Tell me my dream AND interpret it – or….” Wise men: “No one can do what you are asking!” King: “Off with your heads!”

4 Lessons Don’t over-react OR under-react to betrayals, injustices, mistakes, etc.

5 Lessons Don’t over-react OR under-react to betrayals, injustices, mistakes, etc. Don’t assume that a STRONG reaction is the same as an OVER-reaction.

7 Daniel 2:12-16 The decree: destroy the wise men of Babylon.
Daniel spoke to Arioch with tact and discretion and convinced him to put away his sword. Daniel convinced the king to give him time to figure out the dream and its meaning.

8 Daniel 2:17-19 Daniel to his friends: “Pray like crazy!!” God revealed the dream and it’s meaning to Daniel in a vision at night.

11 The great God has told the king what will happen in the future
The great God has told the king what will happen in the future. The dream is true and the interpretation is certain. Daniel 2:45

12 Lessons Our default response to injustices, mistakes, etc., should be with calmness, kindness, and tact.

13 Do not be hasty to speak, and do not be impulsive to make a speech before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:2

14 A gentle answer turns away anger, but a harsh word stirs up wrath.
Proverbs 15:1 Your conversation should always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person. Colossians 4:6
