3. WHAT IS TRANSCULTURAL NURSING?
“A substantive area of study and practice focused on comparative cultural care (caring) values, beliefs and practices of individuals or groups of of similar or different cultures” (Murphy, 2006).

6. STATISTICS Compared to Whites:
Blacks received worse care for 41% of quality measures
Hispanics received worse care for 39% of quality measures
Asians and American Indians/Alaska Natives received worse care for 30% of quality measure
