3 Activate your thinking
"How does where we choose to live have an impact on our lives?“ 6:14 Insert a map of your country.

4 Jot thoughts Answer the question outlined on the task card on your post-it "How does where we choose to live have an impact on our lives?“

5 Round robin Share your thoughts with your team in a round robin
Whole Class Share Let’s "park" our collective thoughts on the white board at front of class and return to them later. Insert a picture of one of the geographic features of your country.

6 Targets for Today Your Learning Journey Begins
I Can… 1. Collaborate with others to gather and interpret information, ask questions, and form plausible conclusions. 2. Communicate my findings about how geographic conditions influenced civilizations.

7 Acquire new learning Each of you will rotate through three stations with a team of three or four classmates. At each station you will view one of three varied pictures of ancient civilizations and, together, complete an "I See-I Think-I Wonder" chart. While your group moves to the next picture station, the chart and picture both remain at their original location. Your goal is to write ideas and also build upon the thoughts and wonders written on each chart by others. After three transitions, you will be asked to share out the big ideas for each illustration.

8 Let’s share! What big ideas did we read about the findings, thoughts, and wonders on each picture? I SEE / I THINK / I WONDER

12 Apply your learning "Taking in to consideration the video, and the pictures you have seen today, Your team’s end task is to create a model where you build an ancient civilization in the “ideal” location. Your choices must be plausible and justified.

13 Apply your learning First, Create a Plan.
Design a plan for an ancient civilization built upon it’s ideal location on the large placemat provided with your team. Individual thoughts of what you want, need, etc., are to be jotted on the outside of the center square. Agreed upon ideas for your final vision are drawn inside the center square. Remember to include items you can bring from home to contribute to the construction. Write down who is responsible for bringing what on your placemat and copy into this information into agendas for homework.

14 Collect & REFLECT Collect in planning Revisit “parked” post-its”
What went well? Next Steps? Know this is an ongoing project and you will receive minutes each class to continue the construction of your civilization As you acquire new information about ancient Mesopotamia you can add to the building of your own civilization model. Let’s revisit the "I Can" statements Assessment / Review of Success Criteria Next Day Lastly, please remember your homework! Look for items to build model and bring them to next class 
