Week of January 26th Mean, Median, Mode, RanGe

Do Now: 26 January 2015 Explain in your own words (Do Not Use Your Book) what the following words mean. Mean Median Mode Range Now apply your meaning and find the mean, median, mode, range for the data set: I.

Do Now: 27 January 2015 F? Also find the: Median Mode Range III

Do Now: 28 January 2015 Find the mean, median, mode, range for the data set: II o l v e

Do Now: 29 January 2015 II

Do Now: 30 January 2015 Find the mean, median, mode, range for the data set: II

The Plan Today I will… (Objective):
Calculate mean, median, mode, range. (Do Now) Analyze and apply ratios and proportions in scale drawings. So that I can… (CC Standard): Solve problems involving scale drawings of geometric figures. (7.GA.1) I will know I have it when…(Classwork): I can compute actual lengths from a scale drawing and reproduce a scale drawing at a different scale. In the future I will use this info…(Assessment): To complete a task (TNReady) or solve multiple choice questions (TCAP) with 80% mastery.

Future Assessments A student is making trail mix. Create a graph to determine if the quantities of nuts and fruit are proportional for each serving size listed in the table. If the quantities are proportional, what is the constant of proportionality or unit rate that defines the relationship? Explain how you determined the constant of proportionality and how it relates to both the table and graph. The relationship is proportional. For each of the other serving sizes there are 2 cups of fruit for every 1 cup of nuts (2:1). The constant of proportionality is shown in the first column of the table and by the slope of the line on the graph.

Wrap It Up & Recap Answer this Question: Did we complete today’s goal? If so, how? Choose one of these questions and answer: What is a ratio? What could a ratio look like? Explain the concept of a proportion. What are similar figures? How can similar figures be used to help you find unknown lengths? Explain what we mean by the term scale factor. How are ratios, proportions, and scale drawings used in the real world? & percent equation. Percent proportion? What is an equation? What is the goal in solving any

Exit Ticket Place on the door or hand to Mrs. Hammond!
Send a Tweet to the next class about what we discussed today by completing any 2 questions! What made learning easy for you today? What made learning difficult for you today? What do you still need to know before we move forward? What do you think our next steps should be? One thing I really liked about today’s class was…. One thing I would like to know more about is…. One thing that could be improved the next time would be… What I found most useful was…. Place on the door or hand to Mrs. Hammond!
