Letter to the Judges: Your letter will be read to the judges right before you make your presentation on Senior Project Night FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE CRUCIAL!!!!! You are communicating the personal growth you experienced during your project.

Turn in to your English Teacher When you receive your copy back: One clean copy (that has been corrected) goes into the front of your Portfolio. It needs to be: NEAT CLEAN ORGANIZED Your letter will be read to the judges BEFORE your presentation.

Letter to the Judges Structure:
Proper business letter format This letter should communicate a narrative of personal progress and growth as a result of completing your Senior Project. Paragraph 1: In the first paragraph, introduce yourself to the judges. Briefly discuss your personal background. Connect to project. Paragraph 2: Describe your project.

Paragraph 3: Recount your growth, and reflect on what you have learned from participating in and completing your Senior Project Paragraph 4: Thank the judges for taking the time to look at your portfolio and for listening to your presentation.

Tips for Success: This is a formal business letter, but . . .
Make sure you have CORRECT GRAMMAR!!!! Use sentence variety! Make sure that the majority of sentences do not start with “I”. Use the thesaurus: try and upgrade your vocabulary for greater impact! Be creative: make sure this letter reflects YOU! This is the first impression the judges will receive of you!
