4 5th Grade Mission Statement
We are fifth grade role models at Clearspring Elementary who work as a team. Our goal is to learn, work hard, be successful, accountable and prepare for the future. We must communicate in order to cooperate as a team meeting our school expectations. We will make this happen by participating, helping others, keeping organized and completing assignments on time.

School-wide Expectations Classroom and all settings Hallways and Stairwell Bathrooms Buses Respectful Raise your hand and wait to be called on before you speak Use kind words Ask first before borrowing supplies Listen politely when others are speaking Offer help when someone is in need Walk silently in the hallway Walk in a single file line Walk on the third tile or the yellow line Keep your hands to your side and off the walls Yield to younger students and adults Use quiet feet Allow others privacy Use bathroom supplies as intended Use a small voice Speak nicely to others Responsible Come prepared with supplies and materials Take care of supplies, materials, and property Make an effort to do your best on all assignments Keep classrooms clean Listen to directions the first time Participate during lessons and activities Keep all electronic devices, cell phones, toys, and games at home Walk facing forward until you reach your destination Stay focused on getting to and from where you need to go Have a pass when you are in the hallway during instructional time Bring only the pass to the bathroom Flush toilets and urinals Throw paper towels and other trash in trash cans Wash hands before you leave Follow the directions given by bus driver, attendant, and patrols the first time Walk directly to your assigned area when the bus arrives in the morning Walk directly to your bus when it is called at the end of the day Wait at the bus stop without touching others or picking up objects Safe Keep hands, feet, and objects to self Walk safely and quietly Push in chairs when away from your seat Keep chairs flat on the floor when seated Use school materials and furniture as told by the teacher Keep roller skates, blades, and heelies at home Walk one step at a time on the right side while going up or down the stairs Walk at all times Use materials and property correctly and as intended Remain seated with your body facing forward and your feet in front of you Keep hands, arms, feet, head, and objects inside the bus Exit bus in one line after the bus has come to a stop

Lunch Assemblies and Special Events Recess Respectful Raise your hand when you need something Talk to friends with a small voice Eat only your own food not the food of others Applaud politely at the appropriate time Maintain personal space Listen, watch, and learn Use encouraging and kind words Take turns and cooperate Include others Responsible Place all trash in the trashcan when directed to do so Place trays and recyclable items in the assigned areas Keep food on the table Help clean up under the table Be silent when you see an adult using the silent symbol Follow all directions given by adults Go directly to recess, not back to your class- unless you have a pass Ask to use the bathroom and take a pass when you go Sit with your legs crossed and on your bottom Be silent when your teacher shows the silent symbol Follow the look, stand, walk symbols when being dismissed from the assembly Tell an adult if someone is hurt or if you are hurt Help clean up all equipment and games Follow the rules of the games Stop playing when the whistle blows Practice good sportsmanship Have a pass to leave the recess area Safe Wait in line quietly to get your lunch Keep your hands and feet to yourself Walk in the cafeteria Line up quietly Sit on your bottom with your legs and feet under the table Line up silently for recess Walk on the sidewalk in a single file line to recess Walk into and out of the assembly Line up silently to leave Keep rocks, sticks, pine cones, mulch and other non-playground items on the ground Play tag in the grass areas only Bring only reading material to recess Sit quietly on the sidewalk at the wall and wait for adult instructions When whistle blows, silently line up with your homeroom class Follow teacher directions to enter the building
